I do love character creating. It's why I caved in to Mass Effect. Ughhh, the roleplay is real.

Still working on ME.. bought the trilogy edition. Rarely play on a non-mmo though, so its slow going.
Not sure if I'll get WoD at release, nor do I care about the legendary cloak.

I'm too afraid to play Mass Effect at this point.

It's your battle tag. When you're in game or on the desktop app, going into your Social window (Friends list) should show your battle tag at the top. I.e., dlione#1567
That is, if Blizzard requires you to make one when starting a new account with them. If not.. it might need to be set on your Blizzard account at battle.net.

I like to play MUDs from time to time. Check it out if you're interested in text-based games that are free. It is based off of Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels.
http://discworld.atuin.net/lpc/ is the site to look at it. It includes a java based client to run the game if you don't have or do not wish to download a MUD client like MUSHclient or zMud.

You should still try out Discworld Mud.
At least read the books. I recommend the Sam Vimes line of the Discworld novels after you read the two intro books. (Colour of Magic and Light Fantastic are the two intro books, Guards! Guards! starts off the Sam Vimes line.)
